55

Well, here I am: 55 years old as of yesterday. Not just a speed limit any more. Have I spent them well? No doubt many would disagree on the answer. But I am not thinking along those lines. My big question is: what's next?

Happy birthday, pops! I think we are all in the same boat....we could all do better in hindsight. I think you're doing pretty alright! I hope your birthday was a good one. Thanks for the email...I hope you wil come down to the studio sometime...and let me take your picture while you're at it!

Mr. Gunn,

Sir,

For someone who fancies themselves an authority on issues of faith (of which grace, love and forgiveness ought to be a central theme), your opinions seem disgustingly close minded and exclusive. If my exposure to this faith you so ostentatiously espouse was limited to your postings and your influence among untempered college youths, I would want nothing to do with your Christianity. You claim more certainty and understanding than a mere man is likely to have. Humility is truly a virtue. Could there exist the possibility that in your seeming self-righteousness you ostracize the hurting and uncertain. Please I implore you, consider with an open heart those whose roads have been different than your own. Please do not be so quick to judge those who struggle and have doubts. And for your own sake, take your limited understanding with a grain of salt. Only God knows a man’s heart. Don’t force anymore away from the cause you are trying to further.

Hey Rob,
How are you guys doing? I'm thankful for the work you have done with college students...and know that my own life is better for it! It does seem hard for some to accept a black and white... or that there is absolute truth. But such would we all be if not for the Holy Spirit which quickens us from death and breathes new life into us. It is by that Spirit that we begin to truly see. "I once was blind, but now I see." Our job is not to worry about how the gospel might offend...so long as it is only the gospel that is the offender. We are to preach the word, in season and out. From the last comment...and the state of things today... many think it not the season for the preaching of the gospel. But we know otherwise. All praise to God who can raise the dead...who can cause a person to be born again! Who can give sight to the blind. "We are saved by by grace, through faith, and that not of ourselves, it is the gift of God, lest anyone should boast."
Mostly I just wanted to say that you have taught us much...and for that we are grateful.
